At age five my outdoorsy family hiked Mt. Washington, New Hampshire in the early 1950's. Just below the summit of this grand mountain, we stood next to the tracks of the Cog Railway. What a thrill as the steam locomotive came our way, chugging and hissing its way up the steep western slope.
